My Universal Javascript Vocabulary Trainer (MUJaVoT)
MUJaVoT 0.9.1 is a vocabulary trainer which is written to primarily work with one of the mozilla browsers; it should be usable with IE and Konqueror as well. Since it is based completely on unicode it should be able to handle just about any combination of languages. Regrettably,
I have not yet found the time to write up more than this short manual (German) on how to enter new lectures.
Some useful links regarding Japanese and the computer:
- Mozilla 1.2+, Firebird or FireFox - one of these browsers is recommended for the usage of MUJaVoT
- Arial Unicode - Probably the most complete unicode font available, extremely useful to display text in different languages like, for example, German and Japanese on the computer. Download, unzip and copy to the fonts folder (should be something like C:\WINDOWS\FONTS when you're using Windows)
- Kanji Gold - Kanji trainer
- Japanese Word Processor - Word Processor for Japanese for Windows, comes with a Kanji dictionary
- Yudit - unicode text editor for Windows and Linux featuring handwriting recognition
- Japanese on Windows 95/98/98SE/ME
- unicode text editors for MacOS X
The trainer is online at this address. You can also download [ZIP] it. To run it, just unzip it and open the file index.html in the browser (all entered lectures are included).
